After a lifetime of discontented liaisons, I am immeasurably cynical about love and romantic relationships. I had saw several promos for "Modern Love" and ignored them. I thought, the last thing I want to watch is a collection of saccharin infused tales of idealized romance.
Then I saw this series was inspired by true stories featured in the New York Times. And I also have enjoyed so many Amazon originals, I felt I should at least try to watch, even if I ultimately ended after a few moments.
I am so glad I did. I would have missed this gem of a collection. I felt like I was watching a live narrative of stories from O. Henry, sensitively portrayed, beautifully acted and produced. Witty, poignant, this series reminded me that love, true love indeed exists and how precious it is. That love has many faces, forms, and ages. And how extraordinary the bonds we form as humans can be. I watched every story, and I truly was captivated. And how elated I felt; such a welcome optimism.
Thank you, Amazon.
