except not half as good and very cheesy leftist wet dream version. It's antifa in 2019 chanting "whose streets, our streets"...not the 35 total nationwide actual KKK members...lmfao. I couldn't even get through 15 minutes of this movie before I had to turn it off. I mean, dudes are even in the office with socialist party posters on the walls FFS, so pitiful.
I'm so discouraged with the stuff that's going on in the United States right now - there's a movement of violence and people are excusing hate. But the reality is, people are lonely and isolated and, in that place, nasty things can grow. I love this story because it tells us there is ALWAYS hope. Darkness will never win. Not really.
Highly recommend watching this for a story of redemption. (It's based on a true story)
Jamie Bell is an exceptional actor and delivers a compelling performance here. Even his eyes are almost black - the eyes of a killer - throughout the film. Also love the fact that they cast an overweight love interest, not from a body-positivity perspective but from a gritty realism one. The dialogue wasn't breathtaking but likely accurate enough. Great piece of filmmaking.
