Don't make my mistake.
I remember when this first was available on Prime. I watched the trailer and maybe part of one episode and proclaimed this a Porky's remake and didn't watch beyond that point. Started watching again the other day with the same opinion but once I got past the first few episodes my opinion started to change and I really enjoyed the rest of the series. After the first couple episodes the gratuitous nudity is gone and so is most of the foul language. In its place are deep friendships, loyalty, empathy and compassion even when romantic relationships end. In that sense, it brought back fond memories of my youth. And, that seems to be what Red Oaks is all about. Each episode is only about 25 minutes, so take a couple of hours and give it a chance. Although there are main characters, one thing I really liked was how the supporting cast were all given their fair share of screen time and all pulled their weight. Ennis Esmer as Nash, the club tennis pro, was hilarious. Characters who were meant to be annoying were appropriately so.
