Love has come to Crystal Cove in the form of an evil woman by the name of Aphrodite. Although she appears beautiful to those under her spell, in reality, she is horribly ugly with no real interest in love. What she wants is the destruction of Crystal Cove itself. Mystery Inc. is helpless to stop her, because her love spell has twisted the minds of Fred, Daphene, Velma and Shaggy -- making them fal
After the Mayor purchases a haunted temple off the Internet, Crystal Cove's only theme park -- Creepy Spooky Terror Land -- is besieged by a Manticore, an ancient beast with the body of a dragon, the face of a man and the tail of a scorpion. The series not only brings back our favorite mystery solvers from when we were kids, but it brings so much more. The character development: solid. The mysteries: on point. But this series is different in that there is a set timeline of events that occurs. I should go ahead and point out that Episodes 2 - 4 might be a little confusing in terms of the timeline, but that would take off maybe like 0.001% off of a 100% review. I don't want to go into the details of the timeline because that would be spoilers, so instead BUY IT (AND SEASON 2) AND WATCH IT. This is now my favorite version of Scooby-Doo, and I know I will definitely be coming back for more (after I finish it of course).
This is the best Scooby Doo ever. I have watched these episodes many times and they're still entertaining, funny and spooky (In a Scooby kind of way). More talking dog, please. There has to be more seasons, more stories, more clues and traps.
For context, the four year old requested I buy this.
Having said that, no regrets. This is one cartoon that we (me, 29, her, 4) both enjoyed. It's scooby doo, which caters to the kids, but at a slightly more sophisticated level in regards to the story. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
I watched the two episodes involving H. P. Hatecraft. It is funny that they make H.P. Hatecraft a cross between the appearance of H.P. Lovecraft and Jeffrey Combs. Jeffrey Combs is great at playing H.P. Hatecraft. I liked the rivalry between H.P. Hatecraft and Harlan Ellison who was portrayed by Harlan Ellison. Jeffrey Combs is very eloquent so he seems like he could be the writer H.P. (Lovecraft) Hatecraft.
